The Archives of the City of Brussels present a Brussels chronology in a new form. Two hundred and sixty-five entries cover ten centuries of significant or more anecdotal events that have all shaped the identity of Brussels. This chronology invites you to discover or rediscover the rich history of our capital. It begins with the supposed founding of the city in 979 and ends in 2021. Emphasis has also been placed on the creation of the municipal services, which bear witness to the evolution of the administration.
